Assumption Cathedral

One of the oldest Orthodox churches in Kharkiv.
The Cathedral stands on the Universytetskyi hill on the banks of the Lopan river; it can be seen from any corner of the city center. The bell tower of the Cathedral, built in the neoclassical style, was built in the 1820-1830s, and the height of the whole building is 90 meters. By the XXI century, the cathedral was considered the tallest building in the city. After the restoration in 1980, the House of Organ and Chamber Music was opened in the Cathedral; for this purpose, an organ, made in Czechoslovakia, was established there.
