Lev Landau

Nobel laureate in the field of Physics. From 1932 to 1937 he was heading the theoretical department of Ukrainian Institute of Physics and Technology and the department at Kharkiv Polytechnic University, was teaching at Kharkiv National University. Kharkiv became the leading center for theoretical Physics during these years.
