The ballet “SWAN LAKE”
On Friday, January 21, 2022, at 18.30, on the Grand Stage of the Grand Stage of the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M.V. Lysenko see the ballet “SWAN LAKE”.
The magic plot of the ballet “Swan Lake” is based on the German fairy tale about the enchanted lady-swan, was transformed by the composer into a lyrical poem of faithful love of the beautiful girl Odette turned into a white swan by the evil sorcerer. The character of Odette is contrasted by her complete antipode – the black swan Odile – emotional, passionate and striking villainess.
The castle and magic landscapes surrounding the place of the main events of the ballet became the background for a fantastic, but, at the same time, completely real drama. It is a romantic ballet, focusing on the passionate love, furious in its expression, featuring of the best melodies written by P. Tchaikovsky and perfectly incarnated in choreography on the ballet theatre stage.
“Swan Lake” by P. Tchaikovsky occupies the top position of the rating of choreographic classics in the whole world.
The glory of the Kharkov ballet, due to the perfection of the production with the original choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, accompanied the tours of the ballet company on many famous theater stages of the world, and became a kind of guiding star for the whole history of development of the Kharkiv ballet school.
