Ballet recital

The coming spring awakens life, inflames passions and excites feelings. KhNATOB/SKHID OPERA offers you a chance to witness these passions in the language of dance on March 10, 2021, at 18.30.

The ballet “Scheherazade” is a fairy tale about violent passions. The source of the plot is the masterpiece of Arab literature. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov became the first composer who accepted the challenge of adopting the plot, refused by many of his predecessors because of its cruelty and excessive explicitness. The outstanding choreographer Mikhail Fokin created a new dance plastique language for this ballet. He refused from pointes and common gestures of the classical ballet in order to concentrate on the true energy of love.

“Walpurgis Night” from the opera “Faust” is considered one of the most outstanding compositions of the French composer Charles Gounod. This ballet is a passion for a dance and a woman: they both hold inside a burning striving for freedom, liberation, releasing an unstoppable flow of energy, which makes everything around more vivid and beautiful.
